민족문제연구소는 1949년 친일파에 의해 와해된 반민특위의 정신과 친일문제 연구에 평생을 바친 故 임종국 선생의 유지를 이어 1991년에 설립되었습니다. 국민의 성금으로 2009년 친일인명사전을 편찬하였으며 역사정의를 실천하는 시민역사관 건립을 추진하여 2018년 8월부터 식민지역사박물관을 운영하고 있습니다.
