I mostly post about race and politics, but I also love city life, so I go "IN THESE STREETS" in LA, where I live now, or in New York, where I lived for 20 years, to tell the news. Or I post wherever I may be traveling that week. On a professional level, I've worked in journalism, law, politics, activism, literature, film, and television. I'm a New York Times bestselling author of 7 books, former White House aide, and co-founder of the National Black Justice Coalition. I graduated from Dartmouth College and Harvard Law School. And I've taught courses on government, race, media, and politics at American University in DC, City College of New York, and Columbia University's Institute for Research in African American Studies.
