Markéta Irglová is an acclaimed musician and actress. Her early music journey led her to meet Glen Hansard in 2004, sparking a lifelong collaboration. Irglová gained international recognition as part of The Swell Season, formed with Glen Hansard, which originated from their work on the film Once. Their song "Falling Slowly" won the 2008 Academy Award for Best Original Song, making her the first Czech woman and youngest person to win an Oscar in a musical category at age 19. "Once" went on to become a Broadway musical hit, winning a total of 11 Tonys. The success of Once propelled her into a prolific touring and recording career, including multiple albums with The Swell Season and her solo projects. Markéta released a trilogy of solo albums ANAR, MUNA and LILA, showcasing her evolving sound.
