We do this through a partnership of students and teachers in a unified community known as a university-college. Founded in 1764 and located in historic Providence, Rhode Island, Brown University is the seventh-oldest college in the United States. Brown is an independent, coeducational Ivy League institution comprising undergraduate and graduate programs, plus the Alpert Medical School and the School of Engineering.
