CCSC - Cineteca Nazionale
The Cineteca Nazionale (National Film Archive), based in Rome, Italy, undertakes the restoration of Italian films; every year it restores and returns to life both cinematic masterpieces and more minor works, reflecting the huge spectrum of the Italian cinema tradition, which contains the work of both great writers and great craftsmen. The Cineteca Nazionale (National Film Archive) is supported in this work by both private and public institutions. If we just mention what has been achieved in recent years: between 2004 and 2007 more than 250 km of film were printed, the equivalent of about 100 short and full-length features, representing the whole history of Italian cinema. The Cineteca Nazionale (National Film Archive) includes an archive of photos and posters relating to the cinema. The collection, with accompanying information, consists of more than 1 million photographs and about 50,000 items of publicity material including posters, "fotobusta" posters and programmes.
