国際政治の力学が大きく変わりつつあります。紛争や戦争のみならず、地球温暖化や感染症も人類の生存を脅かしています。そのような中で、日本の対応が遅く、技術進歩の点でも世界から大きく引き離されつつあります。 学者と政治家の両方を経験している舛添要一が、日々の現象の背後にあるものに迫ります。中学生でも分かるように、平易な言葉で、簡潔に語ります。 Curriculum Vitae: Yoichi MASUZOE Graduated from Tokyo University in 1971. Continued research on international politics in Paris, Geneva and Munich. Returned to Japan in 1978, becoming an associate professor in 1979. Taught political science at his alma mater for ten years. Elected as member of the House of Councillors (Senate) in 2001. Specialized in law, diplomacy, national strategy and public health. Served as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations and National Defense in 2005 and 2006. Appointed Minister of Health, Labour and Social Welfare by Prime Minister Abe in August 2007. Continued holding this ministerial post under the consecutive administrations of Fukuda and Aso. Elected Governor of Tokyo in February 2014.. Resigned in June 2016.
