I Ragni di Lecco sono nati nel 1946 e da allora scalano su tutte le pareti del mondo. Nomi come Casimiro Ferrari, Romano Perego, Walter Bonatti, Riccardo Cassin e più recentemente Simone Pedeferri, Matteo Della Bordella, Matteo Bernasconi e Luca Schiera hanno compiuto prime salite divenute famose in tutto il mondo, come Mc Kinley (1961), Cerro Torre (1974), Cerro Murallon (1984), Cerro Piergiorgio (2008), Ovest della Egger (2013), Uli Biaho (2013) e molte altre.
