Julie Montagu, Countess of Sandwich, is an American-born broadcaster, historian, and custodian of one of Britain’s finest country estates. Raised near Chicago, she moved to the UK after meeting the future Earl of Sandwich and married into one of Britain’s best-known aristocratic families. She now leads Mapperton House, Gardens & Wildlands in Dorset, centred on Mapperton House, widely regarded as one of England’s finest manor houses. Through Mapperton Live, she shares modern country house life with a global audience alongside her husband, Luke. Julie first built a successful career in wellness as a yoga teacher, bestselling author, and cast member of Ladies of London. She is now a regular commentator on British history, royal affairs, and heritage. In 2020, she presented An American Aristocrat’s Guide to Great Estates for the Smithsonian Channel and later founded The Countess of Sandwich Society for the Preservation of Britain’s Living History.
