Stella McCartney is a luxury lifestyle brand which was launched under the designer’s name in 2001, emboldening confident femininity with elevated yet effortless fashion. As a lifelong vegetarian, Stella has never used leather, feathers, fur or skins in any products for both ethical and environmental reasons – innovating alternative materials and pioneering a conscious luxury movement. The brand evolved from being cruelty-free to committed to conscious fashion following the UN’s landmark ‘Livestock’s Long Shadow’ report in 2006, which linked animal agriculture to negative environmental impacts and climate change. Soon after, the brand began using organic cotton in 2008 and released its iconic Falabella tote in 2009 – the world’s first vegan It-Bag.
