Sean Mason is a GRAMMY-nominated jazz pianist, composer, and bandleader whose music brings tradition into direct conversation with the present. Praised by NPR for music that is “exceptionally groovy” and by DownBeat for “a penchant for elegant melodicism,” Mason has performed as a leader at Jazz at Lincoln Center, Monterey Jazz Festival, SFJAZZ, Ronnie Scott’s, Bimhuis, and Blue Note Milano. Through his independent label, Taylor Christian Records, he creates work grounded in melody, rhythm, and collective interaction. A Steinway Artist, Mason’s projects explore the living relationship between composition, improvisation, movement, and human exchange.
