Genre-blending musician OPLIAM, born and raised in Minneapolis and now based in Chicago, refuses to be boxed into a single sound. Weaving together Alter-Native Rock, Native Americana, and Bedroom Pop, he has built a passionate international fanbase and spent the last decade captivating crowds across Turtle Island, Australia, Hawaii, and Aotearoa. In 2022, he made waves in the literary world with the publication of his debut book, “Indigenous America,” published by Penguin Random House; the book is a exploration of the true history of the United States, aimed at young readers. OPLIAM is a Mohawk descendant; his family originates from Kahnawake and was enrolled tribal members of the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe (Akwesasne).
