He has received the Japan Academy Prize for Outstanding Achievement in Music for 64: Part I, The 8-Year Engagement, and In the Wake. His compositions include the soundtrack for Studio Ghibli’s When Marnie Was There and Netflix’s In Love and Deep Water. He has also written memorable songs for artists such as Mariya Takeuchi (“Inochi no Uta”) and the UK boys’ choir LIBERA (“Far Away”). In 2024, he held a concert at the Seoul Arts Center in Korea, expanding his international presence.
