Musician, composer, DJ, record producer. From 1995 in Shibuya, Tokyo, Nujabes worked on his music career and in July 1995, he opened the record store“Guiness Records”in Shibuya. In March 1999, founded Park Avenue Studios in Jinnan, Shibuya, and the independent record label Hydeout Productions. After releasing 30 12-inch singles, he released his first album“Metaphysical Music”in 2003. In March 2004, he was chosen for a music director at the Bali Collection of COMME des GARCONS, produced the soundtrack for the animation series “Samurai Champloo (Fuji TV)”,appeared in Sonar Sound Tokyo, etc. The 2nd album“Modal Soul”was released in November 2005. In November 2007, the record collection album“2nd Collection”was released after four and a half years since“FIRST COLLECTION”.In 2008, Nujabes released a compilation album“Modal Soul Classics By Nujabes”, a collection of music influenced him. Even after his death in a car accident in February 2010, the one-of-a-kind sound that transcends genres still being highly evaluated all over the world, ranked most played Japanese Artist (USA) by Spotify in 2018. A remake of“Spiritual State”played at the Opening Ceremony of the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games and drew attention. Nujabes' music still being highly acclaimed throughout the world.
