Over the past three decades, Einaudi has quietly become the world’s most successful contemporary classical artist, with music that has reached millions through film, television and live performances worldwide. From Arctic Ocean stages to record-breaking residencies at some of the world’s most prestigious venues (including the Barbican and Sydney Opera House as well as the Royal Albert Hall), Einaudi continues to bring his evocative, cinematic music to audiences around the globe. The 2025 chart-topping Summer Portraits album was inspired by a collection of paintings on the walls of a villa on a Mediterranean island, where Einaudi stayed one summer. Upon investigation, he discovered the story of a woman who owned the house and spent every summer there with her family. She used to create new paintings every summer and leave them in the house. “So I started to make my own paintings with music.” said Ludovico.
